CHRISTMAS TREE: WHITE
PINE
The White Pine tree name is strictly descriptive: the tree
belongs to the family of pines and its wood is white. White pines grow
particularly straight in the wild, and they were widely used for ships' masts. The range is
limited to the upper east coast of the US and contingent Canadian forests:

It's characteristics are well suited for Christmas tree
decorations and ornaments:
• the color is a slightly bluish to silver
medium green
• the foliage is lush, creating a great
backdrop to Christmas tree decorations
• needles grow in groups of 4 and are extremely
soft
• branches are quite flexible, so it's easy to
work in Christmas decorations, ornaments, and strands
• excellent shape
• extremely mild fragrance, great for people
with allergiesHere are 2 pictures of the
Eastern White Pine tree: the first on a White Pine farm, and the second of the same
tree in nature.

The natural maximum height range of the Eastern White Pine is 140-150
feet. The
White Pine Christmas tree has a top age range of 200 years for many trees, with
anomalies reaching over 400 years. Here are two photos
of the leaves and the branch.
